Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

The other night I was making my sisters a birthday cake and I had some leftover batter that I didn't want to throw away. I have always wanted to make ice cream cone cupcakes so I decided to try it. I wasn't exactly sure the best way to do it so it didn't come out how I thought it would but they did taste good. Caden was especially excited for his special treat. Casey didn't think he would be able to eat it, but Caden proved him wrong lol.

Importing Past Blogs

All of my blogs I have written on my computer before I had an actual blog are slowly but surely being transferred here. I used to just write the blogs for my memory years down the road, but it will be good to share everything changing in our lives with family and friends!

Sick Baby and Mysterious Rash

How his leg started out
How his belly started out
How his arm started out
His belly later

His arm later
His poor legs
So for the past couple of days Caden has just not felt good. He has been running a fever and had a runny nose. This has all circled back around to the sinus infection that he had and probably never got over. He did take antibiotics for the sinus infection but a week or so later it was back! This is not fun at all and I know it is not fun for him. There has been a lot of cuddling going on. Sleeping is a big issue because he is having trouble breathing out of his nose and he does not want to give up his binky to sleep. He only loves to have binky when he is sick or sleepy. We have done baby vicks, vivks vapors for the bath, humidifier, and the booger noser (that's what we call the booger sucker). He used to really dislike the booger noser but now he is used to it and lets me do it easy if I don't take too long.

So for the mysterious rash...I noticed he had this big red mark on his leg when I was cooking dinner, but I didn't think anything of it. I just figured Casey and him had been playing and he rubbed it on the carpet. After dinner when I was wiping him down I got a closer look and noticed it was a big blotchy rash. Not only was it on both legs, but it was on his arms, belly, and back! Over time it just kept getting worse and I have no clue what is was. He hasn't eaten anything different and I haven't changed detergents. My grandma thinks it may be a viral infection that can be disguised with a cold and then a sudden rash. After I gave him benadryl it cleared up dramatically and he was ready for bed.

I guess tomorrow we will be back at the doctor. They are going to know us too well if we keep having to make trips there! I just want my baby to feel better so everything will be back to normal. I'm thankful that he is still eating well and still wants to play if he has some medicine in him.

Happy Boy!
I love him!
Well, an end has come to Caden's first birthday and I'm sad to see it go : ( I think Casey and I had just as much fun as Caden did. This morning I made Caden cinnamon rolls which he loved! It was his first time trying them, but I knew he would love them because he loves anything sweet. We put a candle in it and sung happy birthday to him and he was so excited and bobbed his head.
After we got all cleaned up, we got dressed and headed out to Chuck E Cheese. He had never been there before so I was curious to see his response. Caden's birthday fell on a weekday so everyone was at school and work when we went. We were the only people in there! It felt like we rented the whole building out which was cool. While waiting on our pizza, Caden wanted to ride the carousel. That was probably his favorite ride. He looked so big on there and was able to hang on by himself. That made me so sad because I knew he was growing up. He laughed and kicked the horse as if he were riding a real horse. He rode that tons of times that day. When our pizza came we went to the table to eat and Caden stood beside me to eat the whole time. He held his mini pizza I made him and just ate it while looking at all the neat things around me. He kept pointing and say "the" (tha) and "this". After we were done eating we let Caden pick more rides for him to get on. His second favorite was this truck that sang as you rode it. After riding Casey and I took turns going in the tunnels with him. He thought that was the coolest thing ever, especially when he could see whoever wasn't with him through a tunnel window waving at him. They have really improved them from when I was little. They are bigger and have air conditioning in them. Caden was small enough to stand up and walk through the tunnels. Next we took pictures with the sketch machine. We had to take more than one because Caden kept getting distracted lol. Caden loved it when Chuck E Cheese and the band came on stage. He danced to them singing and pointed a lot. Next Caden helped Mama and Dada play some games and then more riding on Caden's favorite rides. After that it was time to cash in Caden's tickets. He got this cute Chuck E Cheese birthday beanie. It has a place to put his picture in.
We had to go to Wal-Mart to pickup Caden's Winnie the Pooh cake and we promised to buy Caden Dumbo because it came out on his birthday. We stopped at Taco Bell to eat before we went in and Caden ate a whole Enchirito! He loves them. After eating and getting everything we headed home to eat cake and open presents. Caden's cake was so cute. Baby Winnie the Pooh and Baby Tigger were hugging and a bee made a heart around them. The Winnie the Pooh and Tigger was a figurine so Caden got to keep it for a keepsake. Caden got to stand in a big chair for his cake and was so excited about it. We took lots of pictures and enjoyed some yummy cake. Next it was time to open presents. Caden reacted much different than with his birthday party. He must have been distracted from all the people at his party. He actually opened his presents by himself. of course he wanted to use whatever he wanted right then, but he kept opening them! After we were done Daddy opened them for him to play with and then it was time for bed. We were all tired because we had such a fun day! I wasn't ready for the day to end but all good things must come to and end and my little boy has to grow up eventually. I would keep him little forever if I could : ) I'm so glad we had so much fun and the day went perfect! I love you Caden. Happy First Birthday Baby!

Love, Mama and Dada
